Wedding Song
Morning ladies and gents

I am soon to be married and bridezilla has allowed me one job and that is to select the song for our first dance.

I would like it to be a Ford song as I am a massive Ford fan, can anyone suggest which one may be the best as a first dance wedding song?

Cheers

Scorch

Hi Scorch,

I'm getting married later this year and am keen to have a Ford song for my first dance too, as I've been a Ford fan for a long time.

I'm yet to actually sit down and listen to them all through, but my current thoughts are 'Call to Arms' of 'To Hell With The World'.

My biggest problem is that I'm not a big fan of his slower songs, but I don't think 'Requiem' or 'State of the Union' would go down too well Tongue

RE: Wedding Song
I've got no plans to get married any time soon but I've already thought about this and I reckon 'Song for the Road' would be perfect - if the lyric 'Just give me one way to spend my last moments alive, and I choose this...' isn't exactly how you feel when you look in to your partner's eyes during your first dance then you're marrying the wrong person!

RE: Wedding Song
I got married last year and we would've loved Decimate for our first dance, but it was just too darn quick to dance to. We settled for playing it straight after our first dance song, by which point my hubby and I were sick of being all serious for photos and quite enjoyed dancing and twirling in a comedy manner to try and keep up with the music Big Grin

Ollie, SFTR was also a consideration but I'd done enough crying throughout the ceremony and didn't want to be set off blubbing again during our first dance Wink

She's not the one? Wink

Most people I hear go for "Til the day" if you stretch to Easyworld.

RE: Wedding Song
I got engaged to 'song for the road' highly recommend it for setting up a mushy first dance

I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

RE: Wedding Song
Not really the marriage type but still think about things like this, and if it was a Ford song it would have to be song for the road or to hell with the world

Possible outsider... I'm alright now

"A lot of stories will end happy ever after
But I swear nothing quite like you and me"

"Maybe I lost my sense of direction, but I'm alright now"

RE: Wedding Song
Call to Arms kind of sums up the traditional wedding vows in a way... about being strong, and true to the one you love through the hard times as well as the easy. It's even got the 'til death do us part' bit!

RE: Wedding Song
Can't use song for the road, I'm using half of it in my vows!

I kind of like Slyvia on LOTHTR, but don't know if I am reading the lyrics right. I definetly stretch to easyworld and hadn't thought about til the day, but that is now on my list.

Just for sheer comedy, bleach would be entertaining as a first song

'you are the love of my sorry little life' would get my vote!

RE: Wedding Song
And that's precisely why I'm not having 'Til The Day (no, not because of the lyrics)...

Besides, if truth be told it's probably my least favourite Ford/EW song.

I'm still thinking of having Call To Arms...I love that song, it makes me Smile
