Charge Tracklist
Hi all,

The tracklist for Charge is now viewable on iTunes:

Pour a little poison
The Ballad of Miss Lily
Isn't it Strange?
Let it Burn
Philadelphia Boy
Moving On
What's not to love?
Perfect Soul
Throwaway
Every Time

A few surprises for me. I had assumed that both Liverpool and Medicine Show would make the album, and didn't think that Let It Burn would be on there.

There are 90 second previews of all tracks on iTunes too!

RE: Charge Tracklist
From the previews, it is clear that some tracks we've already heard in full have been dramatically reworked - especially Let It Burn and Every Time.

Happy to see 'what's not to love?' on there.

Hopefully this gets an airing on the tour Smile

WOW, no Liverpool!? Exclamation
And I'm not a big fan of Philly Boy... but we'll see.

At least this means I can now listen to the tennessee EP without fear of spoiling the new album. Exclamation

EDIT: Oh, I've just listened to the clip from Every time... not sure what to think about it. It seems a bit over dressed... but I guess it's too early to judge just from a short clip.

Oh god, the full, glorious version Lalla - it's literally stunning. Piano riffs, backing singers, the full works. Not overdressed, but impeccably dressed, in my humble opinion. I can't listen to it enough. Just. Wait. So. Nearly. There.

P.S. I am, however, sad that Medicine Man isn't on there. Still, Ford's the man to decide...

Exclamation WOW! Then I'm looking forward to the full version.
I have a strong attachment to this song so I'm going to be very protective of the version I've listened to so many times... Heart

RE: Charge Tracklist
So when does the CD actually drop?
On iTunes it says 18th March and you can pre-order now. But here it states 18th Feb.

RE: Charge Tracklist
The headline of the news article on the site is misleading: 'CHARGE – new album available for download on 18th February'.

The text of the article makes it clear that it is only available to preorder on 18th Feb, and will then (presumably) actually be released / available to download on 18th March. Can Dave W confirm?

Also, Dave, any idea why DF didn't wish to include Medicine Show on Charge? The album is only a 10-tracker, and could have been more. While I think many albums these days are too long, with insufficient quality control, Medicine Show is a great piece of work, which DF clearly put a huge amount of effort into, both in the instrumentation and production. Was DF's feeling that having two 'Wild West' themed-songs (Medicine Show and Lily) would be too much?

The overall album is going to have less of an Americana feel to it than I expected.

I'd agree with you but for the fact that pre-orders are already available on iTunes. Pre-ordered mine yesterday.

RE: Charge Tracklist
Presumably, pre-ordering on 18th February refers to the physical release?

i.e.
iTunes: pre-order now, download on March 18th
CD: pre-order on Feb. 18th, shipped on/for March 18th

Which makes the headline of the news article even more misleading!

RE: Charge Tracklist
Some very surprising inclusions there, particularly "let it burn" and "ballad of miss lily". Still looking forward to hearing the record though :-)

these songs are for me and you
but not for them

RE: Charge Tracklist
When you buy the vinyl you get a 'free cd'.
As in a proper copy of the album in the digipak artwork, or a cd by itself? Seen it bpth ways from other artists before, so a wee bit unclear...
